Quality & Performance of Cruisers Yachts
With over 50 years of boat design experience, we approach yacht development as if creating a work of art. This gives Cruisers Yachts' Express Cruisers, Motoryachts and Sedans a distinctive and timeless allure as fluid and graceful as the water they sail on. Once the ideal blend of qualities and amenities are in place, we select only the finest tools and materials for crafting the final product. Nothing is incorporated without purpose. Every design must benefit your overall experience and bring you the ultimate freedom and lifestyle only a Cruisers Yacht provides. Neither form nor function takes precedence; they instead strike a perfect balance. Design Features MORE FRESH AIR AND NATURAL LIGHT Ventilation is important to most boaters, which is why we install opening stainless-steel portholes with screens in every possible area. And to bring more natural light and ventilation into the cabin spaces, we also offer ventilating skylights with screens.
ELEGANT LIVING To add a distinctive touch to our interiors, our galleys are accented with beautiful stainless-steel sinks and designer fixtures. Additionally, all wood surfaces on our express models 37’ and larger are made of hand-finished natural cherry, adding warmth and elegance to the live-abroad environment.
STYLISH YET PRACTICAL Cruisers Yachts 37’-56’ feature interior seating upholstered with UltraLeatherTM BrisaR. This gives you the comfort and look of real leather, yet our seating surfaces are as durable and easy to clean as vinyl.
WALK-THRU WINDSHIELD Cruisers Yachts has long been known for walk-thru windshields. All of our 28’-52’ express models have walk-thru windshields, along with heavy-duty handrails and non-skid fiberglass surfaces for quick and easy access to the forward deck for docking, sunbathing or operating the windlass.
EASE OF NAVIGATION All our models feature ergonomic captain-friendly dashes with ample room for all the necessary navigation electronics to make your time at sea safe and enjoyable.
COCKPIT SEATING Exterior seats are made with closed-cell foam to minimize water absorption and contain no wood that can rot. In fact, we don’t use any wood in cockpits or helm stations that can deteriorate. Additionally, all our cockpit upholstery features hide-em welts to eliminate exposed staples that can cause damage to your seating.
TRANSOM STORAGE Space is the final frontier on a yacht too. Each of our express models have built-in transom storage trunks for storing larger items in addition to storing lines and power cords.
FIND WHAT YOU’RE LOOKING FOR FASTER Cruisers Yachts has always made it easy for owners to quickly locate important items on their boats. Engine bays in particular are well organized and spacious with all major components labeled for easy identification.
PERFORMANCE APPROACH Cruisers Yachts takes a total-systems approach when designing boats. For each model, the engine options and propellers are matched to provide the best performance for the size, weight and displacement of the hull.
PROP POCKETS Cruisers Yachts’ engineers and designers have made prop pockets an integral part of the hull’s performance. Though pioneering efforts in pocket designs, our hulls provide more efficient performance at all speeds. TechnologyAs the design and style of our yachts evolve, so does the technology used in their construction. For building powerful yet elegant form, the latest CAD/CAM systems, C-N-C machines for computer-controlled accuracy and specially formulated gel-coats and resins blend with our time-honored artistic traditions to ensure that each yacht is built to precise specifications. The tools used for construction of the interior are equally as modern and sophisticated. We incorporate precision-fit components to eliminate any rattling or squeaking, highly functional modular interiors, all-metal through-hull components and bronze through-hull fittings as well as high-end balsa coring, allowing for lighter weight, strength and sound absorption. In the end, the quality and craftsmanship you see on the outside of your yacht is only the most visible example of what is also found deep within and throughout its construction. Manufacturing At Cruisers YachtsPRECISION COMPONENTS Cruisers Yachts employs state-of-the-art CAD/CAM technology to embrace the best of contemporary naval architecture, engineering, technology and styling. CAD/CAM allows greater manufacturing accuracy by providing exact dimensions for all components and subassemblies. This provides for more features and functionality into less space.
C-N-C machines provide computer-controlled precision when we fabricate cabinets, bulkheads, interior doors, countertops and wood trim. This reduces the chance of poor-fitting components that rattle and squeak when underway.
FIBERGLASS PARTS We are implementing resin transfer molding (RTM) to provide a superior finish on both sides of a fiberglass part. This environmentally friendly procedure also maintains consistent part weight and thickness.
CUSTOM SEATING We have as much pride in your yacht as you do, so we handcraft all upholstery and cushions for exceptional, custom fit and finish.
METAL FABRICATION Our own in-house metal fabrication shop allows us to control production costs, quality control and react efficiently to any changes. Among some of the items manufactured are stainless steel bow rails, handrails, engine mounts, hardtop supports, anchor rollers, back-up plates, fuel tanks, etc.
DETAILS IN WOOD We have an in-house wood-finishing shop to meet our exacting standards for quality. Our shop artisans craft and finish solid trim, doors and door frames.
COOL AND DRY All of our weather covers are designed and crafted in-house along with the bow system. Choose from several colors. CONSTRUCTION FEATURES PRECISION-CRAFTED MOLDS To ensure fewer imperfections appear in the premium fade-resistant, high-luster gelcoat, we use precision-crafted molds that are meticulously maintained.
STURDY CONSTRUCTION For added hull strength, multi-directional knitted fabrics are pattern-cut and hand-laid for consistent structural integrity.
FIBERGLASS LINERS We have a number of deeply held beliefs at Cruisers Yachts. One is our strict adherence to full-cabin fiberglass liners. Our fiberglass cabin liners are lighter than simple carpet over plywood and will not deteriorate. In addition, our cabin liners are securely bonded in the boats to the stringers and sheer shelf using structural adhesive in addition to screwing every 12” along the sheer shelf.
HULL-TO-DECK JOINTS In each yacht the hull-to-deck connection is screwed at a maximum of 16” centers. Between the hull and deck joint a marine-grade adhesive is also used to bond the two parts together and seal out water. In addition to the screws and the adhesive along the gunnel, we through-bolt all accessible areas.
BOW RAILS AND DECK FITTINGS For added structural integrity and corrosion resistance, we fabricate our own welded bow rails using 316 stainless steel. To make sure bow rails stay securely fastened, we laminate aluminum back-up plates into the deck. We also back up all deck fittings with aluminum backing plates.
MODULAR INTERIORS We use a modular construction process for the galley, head compartments and storage cabinets. This ensures more reliable installation of the plumbing and electrical components, plus a stronger, more durable unit when mated to the boat.
CATALYZED WHITE BILGE COATING A two part catalyzed product is used to prevent water, oil, acid and fuel from penetrating into the fiberglass laminate. The white color creates a brighter bilge area.
WIRE HARNESS ID To make wire identification simple and convenient, each individual wire in a wiring harness is ink-jet coded every 3” with the wire number and its function.
NO MORE SHOCK RISKS Water and electricity never mix well. To eliminate shock hazards, a single-point bonding system provides a common connection for all metal through-hull components. Plus, this system makes it possible for a single transom-mounted sacrificial anode to provide maximum galvanic corrosion protection.
SETTING THE STANDARD Cruisers Yachts sets the industry standard for many quality attributes. Yet, to certify our quality standards, each model is tested and put through its paces in sea trials to ensure it meets or exceeds all NMMA, ABYC and CE quality ISO standards for the European Union (EU).
FINAL INSPECTIONS As we’ve stated, we do everything we can to enhance your experiences on the water. So each and every Cruisers Yacht is inspected at each individual build stall. And another four-step inspection occurs at the end of the line. First, the critical systems/run-up for water, electrical & mechanical systems are tested. Then a thorough structural inspection. Then a cosmetic inspection followed by a final walk-through. This ensures you take ownership of a problem-free boat to make every moment aboard more magical than you even imagined.
